Tips for Treating a Chipped Chomper

Posted .

If you’ve chipped your tooth, no matter how it happened, it’s best to keep calm and do your best to improve the situation. This can help you relieve pain and increase your chances of treatment success. To help you, our Ronald Hauptman, DDS and Bahar Rowhani, DDS dental team has some tips and information you can use to begin treating your chipped tooth.

The first thing you should do is call Dr. Ronald Hauptman & Bahar Rowhani and schedule an appointment. It’s best to see them as soon as possible so they can treat your tooth. When you come into our office, make sure to bring the pieces of your tooth with you. This means when you break your tooth, you need to save as many pieces as you can and keep them in a safe place.

The second thing you should do is control the bleeding and reduce the swelling. You can control the bleeding by applying a piece of gauze pad to the area until the bleeding stops. If needed, feel free to replace the soaked pad with a new one when necessary. In order to reduce swelling, ice outside the injured area with an ice pack or cold compress in 15-minute intervals.

Call our office at 703-241-0666 at your earliest convenience if you have any questions or if you need additional help treating a chipped tooth in Falls Church, Virginia. Our dental team is here to help you in any way we can, and we look forward to your phone call!
