After your temporary crown placement procedure:

  • Don’t chew anything for at least one hour.

  • Don’t chew sticky or hard foods with your crown such as bagels,
almonds, peanut brittle, taffy, hard candy, peanut butter and jelly
sandwiches etc. Chew on the other side of your mouth if you can
until you have a permanent crown.

  • Brush as you normally would. Floss carefully, removing the floss
from the side of the tooth instead of with an upward motion.

  • If you notice that your teeth are sensitive to pressure or
temperature, use a desensitizing toothpaste such as Sensodyne. If
the sensitivity worsens or lasts for more than a few days, please
    call our office.

  • It is important for your temporary crown to stay in place. If your
temporary crown comes off before your next scheduled
appointment, please call our office. Be sure to save the crown so
    we can recement it.
